Another Major Firefighter Endorsement for
Dom Belza
Chico, Calif. -- Republican Dom Belza announced today that he has earned the endorsement of Cal Fire Local 2881, the union representing the professional firefighters of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE).
Cal Fire Local 2881 represents more than 10,000 firefighters and emergency response personnel who protect millions of Californians each year. From wildfire suppression and prevention to emergency medical services and disaster response, Local 2881 members serve on the front lines of public safety across the state.
President Tim Edwards of Cal Fire Local 2881 emphasized the importance of strong leadership in Sacramento, “The men and women of Cal Fire safeguard and serve communities statewide. The people of the North State in particular, understand the importance of preventive fire maintenance and the need to fully fund our fire programs. Having Dom Belza in State Assembly matters. Dom is someone who understands public safety, wildfire response, and the needs of firefighters and their families. That's why he has our full support.”
Dom Belza expressed his gratitude for the endorsement and reaffirmed his commitment to public safety saying, "I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of Cal Fire Local 2881. The brave men and women of Cal Fire put their lives on the line to protect our communities, especially here in the North State where wildfire threats are a constant reality. In the State Assembly, I will fight to ensure our fire prevention programs are fully funded, our emergency responders have the resources they need, and our firefighters and their families are supported both on and off the job. Public safety must remain a top priority."
The endorsement from Cal Fire Local 2881 underscores Belza’s commitment to strengthening wildfire prevention, investing in critical infrastructure, and ensuring California’s emergency responders have the tools and support necessary to protect lives and property.
