Belza Momentum Continues After Strong Primary Election – Announces Strong New Endorsements as He Unifies 3rd District Communities

Chico, Calif. – Dom Belza proved his campaign had broad momentum across the 3rd Assembly District in a dominating showing during the June 2nd Statewide Primary Election. While the ballots in the 3rd Assembly District are being counted, Belza maintains a 17% lead over the nearest competitor in the three-candidate race.

As Belza’s campaign begins to focus on the future he is quickly unifying support post-primary. Belza’s latest announcement includes endorsements he earned from the City of Chico as he becomes the consensus frontrunner. The announcement is notable as Chico is a key city in the Assembly District being the largest city in the largest county. The newly announced endorsements include:

Tom van Overbeek, Chico City Councilmember

Mike O’Brien, Chico City Councilmember

Sean Morgan, Chico City Councilmember (ret.)

Councilman Tom van Overbeek stated, "I enthusiastically endorse Dom Belza for Assembly District 3. Dom decisively won the primary election against 2 other worthy Conservative candidates. It's time for Conservatives to focus our resources on beating Democrats and not fighting among ourselves."

“I am always cautious when endorsing candidates. I want to ensure they represent the best for the communities they serve, especially as it relates to public safety. That is why I am fully endorsing Dom Belza for State Assembly. I have come to know Dom and his family the last several years and I can speak without reservation about his character and commitment to doing what is right," said Councilman Mike O'Brien. "He is a man of integrity who will always have our best interest at heart. I trust Dom to support the values I support…those that embody the American Dream. His strong foundation of faith and family will allow him to provide an important voice where one is needed most. As someone who has dedicated almost 40 years to public service, I am proud to support Dom Belza as he will be the kind of leader I want representing me and my community.”

The new endorsements join the previously announced support including Mayor Kasey Reynolds, former Vice Mayor Reanette Fillmer, and former Chief of Police Matt Madden, giving Belza consensus support from Chico.

“I’ve always campaigned from the ground up and post primary I’m working to unify the community and bring us together at the grassroots level,” said Belza. “I’m honored to have the support of these key leaders and expect big news in the upcoming weeks ahead as we continue to build our campaign for November.”
