MAJOR ENDORSEMENT ALERT

Chico Mayor Endorses Dom Belza For 3rd Assembly District

Chico, Calif. - - Today, Dom Belza released a major endorsement in his campaign for the 3rd Assembly District. Making an early statement in the campaign to replace Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher who is serving his final term, Belza announced Chico Mayor Kasey Reynolds is endorsing his campaign. Chico is the largest city in the 3rd Assembly District.

Mayor Kasey Reynolds is one of the most recognizable leaders in Butte County. Reynolds was first elected to the Chico City Council in 2018 and re-elected in 2022 and most recently held the position as Vice-Mayor. In addition to her role as the Mayor, Reynolds is the 4th generation co-owner of Shubert’s Ice Cream & Candy, an iconic business located in the heart of Downtown Chico.

Today's announcement demonstrates Belza's appeal and support throughout the 3rd Assembly District. Just last week, Belza announced uniting a majority of Yuba-Sutter local elected officials behind his candidacy.

In his announcement Dom Belza stated, “I’m honored to have Mayor Kasey Reynolds as an early supporter to my campaign. The Mayor is someone who has shown great leadership in Chico and I appreciate her willingness to tackle issues head on. I look forward to working side by side with her in the coming months as we engage voters at a grassroots level about our vision to protect the North State’s values and improve the quality of life for our community.”
